About this Course

Haiku is a genre of short form poetry that originated in Japan. These poems are often seasonal, depicting a moment of perception with concrete sensory images. This workshop begins with a history of English-language haiku, definitions & tips for both reading & writing haiku and then moves on to a writing exercise, where workshop participants can try their hand at writing a haiku.
